That was the beginning of my adventure in Lindos, little did I know what it held in store for me. I met my future husband the very next day. Pallas Beach was for locals and tourists, and not a sunbed or umbrella in sight …. bliss. Pallas taverna, for refreshments and food - Eleni Pallas made the best moussaka, I have ever tasted. The local lads turning the beach into a football pitch in the afternoon. Everyone had to take part, you weren't just on holiday, you became part of the community, for 14 days. Without realising it, Lindos had weaved its way into my heart. The well tanned guy at the waterski school took my eye, and the rest is really history.
1982 saw me guiding trips for Rhodos Tours (now Savaidis Travel) and in 1983 I started repping for a small travel company called Twelve Islands. These were charmed times.
1985 Yannis and I were married and I continued to work for Savaidis Travel. 1990 was unfortunately my last year repping, but in the December we had the arrival of our first son Michael-Matthew. For the next five years I continued to work for Savaidis, and it was during this time that I first met Karen. She then moved on to bigger and better things, and I remained in Lindos. 1995 saw a change for me and I worked for one summer in Lindos Sun Tours, and that December saw the arrival of our second son Angelos. The next summer of 1996 I worked on the reception desk at Lindos Sun Hotel.
We then took a big step and took on the running of Lindos Reception, the main arrival and departure terminal, for anyone staying in Lindos village. My way of still meeting and greeting without the uniform and sharing my passion and knowledge of the resort.
Karen and I have seen many changes over the years, especially concerning the travel companies. Regular guests coming to Lindos, miss the personal touch, and the general caring of the Greek specialist tour operators of years ago.
We are hoping to provide this with Exclusively Lindos and we hope that you will be at the receiving end. We are both looking forward so much to the next part of this journey.
