Lindos boasts an impressive array of shops, selling everything from everyday supermarket items and holiday essentials, to a wide variety of gift and souvenirs.  Some cater for the many day trippers passing through the village who require a quick momento of their visit, whilst others offer a higher quality of unique and original goods.

Traditional Gifts

Traditional Lindian houses decorated their Sala rooms with so called Lindian plates which often depicted Rhodian emblems such as deer, birds, crosses and flowers.    Such plates were brightly coloured and hand painted and replicas can be bought in some of the local shops. Painted ceramics illustrating historical events and mythological stories continue to be popular holiday souvenirs.   Embroidered linen is another traditional craft associated with Lindos, (the village was once famous for its weaving) and some shops continue to sell hand made crocheted table cloths and napkins.  Leather goods such as bags and sandals can also be found.

Day to Day

The village has plenty of mini markets providing basic supplies such as water, juice, milk, fruit and vegetables; Greek specialities such as honey, local wine, bread, nuts and sweets and even some British goods such as sliced bread and frozen goods.  Expect to pay more for these imported British items than you would do in the UK.   The minimarkets are generally open from around 0800 hours to 2300 hours and sometimes even midnight in high season.  The 3 main ones in the village are all situated near Yiannis Bar on the street that runs from the top car park to the main square.     Fresh bread and pastries are delivered to the supermarkets on a daily basis.  There is a butchers in the village for those who fancy firing up the BBQ at their villa.   If you are in Krana, then Flora Supermarket will provide your day to day items.
